Aadarsha Kutumbam 1st Weekend Box Office: Right Trend, Wrong Numbers

Venkatesh and Trivikram’s Aadarsha Kutumbam has wrapped up its first weekend, and the report card is mixed. The film is growing day by day in India, but the total is well below what a combination of this size needed.

Aadarsha Kutumbam is estimated to have collected around ₹51.5 Cr gross worldwide in its opening weekend.

Aadarsha Kutumbam 1st Weekend Box Office (Gross, Estimated)

  • AP & TS: ₹31 Cr+
  • Karnataka: ₹4.75 Cr
  • Rest of India: ₹1.75 Cr
  • Total India: ₹37.5 Cr
  • Overseas: ₹14 Cr
  • Worldwide Total: ₹51.5 Cr

Low Start for a Big Combo

For a Venkatesh and Trivikram film, Aadarsha Kutumbam took a much lower opening than expected. The combination carried big hopes, but the film couldn’t turn that into a strong Day 1.

The Positive Sign: Growing Every Day

There is one good thing to hold on to. At the domestic box office in India, the film has followed a Day 3 > Day 2 > Day 1 trend, meaning collections went up every day through the weekend.

That kind of growth usually points to positive word of mouth, especially among family audiences, who tend to turn up later in a film’s run.

But the Weekend Fell Short

Even with the growth, the weekend total isn’t big enough. The film needed at least ₹70 Cr worldwide from the weekend, and it has fallen short of that mark.

The Break-Even Gap

Aadarsha Kutumbam needs around ₹125 Cr gross worldwide to break even. After the first weekend, the film has recovered only about 41% of that, and still needs close to ₹73.5 Cr more.

For the combination and the money involved, this weekend performance is below par.

The Week That Decides Everything

The coming days will decide the film’s fate. Aadarsha Kutumbam needs a strong hold through the weekdays, all the way until the Diwali festival.

If the growing trend continues on Monday and beyond, and Diwali gives it another push, the film still has a chance to recover well. But the competition is tough, with Ramayana releasing on November 5 and Suriya’s Scene arriving the next day. That will cut into its screens and audience.
